Within a few decades, and in keeping with national trends, immigrants from England, Ireland, and German-speaking central Europe were no longer the majority of Atlanta's foreign-born population. On May 9, 2015, a woman riding with four other people was injured when she was hit in the head by a large chunk of metal.
